Driven by a personal tragedy that deeply impacted her family, Andrea made a conscious decision to channel her legal career towards helping people in need. She understands the anxiety and fear often associated with the legal process, and she is committed to ensuring that her clients receive the utmost respect, professionalism, and empathy they deserve.
Andrea's journey in the legal field began in 1992 when she was admitted to the Maryland Bar Association. She practiced law in Baltimore before relocating to pursue warmer climates. Holding a degree in business from Boston University and a JD Law Degree from the University of Miami, she brings a unique blend of knowledge and practical experiences to her practice.
In 2002, Andrea began a focus on estate matters, real estate and probate, which further solidified her dedication to assisting individuals in planning for their future and navigating the complexities of the legal system. In 2007, she founded her own law firm, Andrea L. Jakob, PA, where she continues to provide exceptional legal services to her clients.
Beyond her legal practice, Andrea actively engages with the community. She has shared her expertise as an adjunct professor at the college level, educating aspiring legal professionals, and as an instructor for Realtors, empowering them with legal knowledge. Additionally, she is a sought-after speaker and often presents informative sessions to various groups, private and public organizations and at community events. You may even catch her speaking at the Broward County Library, sharing her insights on estate planning, probate and elder law. Andrea is a regular contributor to magazines offering insights into her areas of practice.
On a personal note, Andrea has been happily married for over twenty-five years and takes immense pride in raising her two wonderful daughters. This personal commitment to family fuels her dedication to protecting the rights and well-being of her clients and their loved ones.
